Academic Overview
Our Mission
Academic Excellence with a Biblical Foundation
UCA integrates Biblical truth with a college-preparatory curriculum, offering a blend of Christian and secular textbooks that encourage critical thinking and personal growth. Our program meets Louisiana TOPS University Diploma standards, opening doors to scholarship opportunities.
Diverse Learning Opportunities
From Pre-K3 to 12th grade, UCA offers a well-rounded education, including:
- Elementary Education (Pre-K3 – 6th Grade): Bob Jones University Press and Abeka curriculums with a focus on critical thinking and a Biblical worldview.
- Liberal Arts: Music and arts programs that encourage creative expression and spiritual growth.
- Athletics: Football, softball, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, and track.
- Support Services: Dyslexia screening and after-school care.
Spiritual Growth and Community
At UCA, faith is at the heart of everything we do. Weekly chapel services provide students with opportunities for worship and spiritual growth. Our annual Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) for grades 7-12 offers games, worship, teachings, and discipleship, fostering deeper connections with Christ and one another.

Job Shadowing Information & Guidelines
As part of your graduation requirements at Union Christian Academy, students are required to complete job shadowing experiences with a goal of gaining knowledge about the work world and to explore careers. All students at UCA are required to complete at least one job shadow before graduation. Many students will complete their job shadow during summer break. This may be the most convenient time for students to fulfill this requirement. In most cases, a summer job will not count for your required job shadow. Students are required to spend at least four hours at a place of employment and complete classroom related assignments in order to receive a school related absence. All job shadow must be PRE-APPROVED by the school guidance counselor.

The National Honor Society
UCA is an affiliate of the National Honor Society (NHS). Students grades 10-12 who meet the requirements outlined by our bylaws are eligible to be invited for membership in our NHS chapter.
Students who accept membership and are inducted into the UCA NHS chapter should be aware of the time and commitment involved with this honor. For example, there will be chapter meetings and community service hours that are required.
UCA NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY BYLAWS (click here)
”NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
Today, it is estimated that more than one million students participate in NHS activities. NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, many U.S. territories, and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.” (www.nhs.us)
